On May
23, 2007 Colonia High held its Annual
Awards Night. Thanks to
the generosity of members of the Class of 1972, two deserving seniors were
presented with $1,000 "Friends of '72" Awards.
Shannon Bertsch was accepted to Seton Hall
University for Fall 2007 in the College of Arts

Criteria for Selection
l Accepted
or enrolled for the fall
semester in either a college or
vocational program.
l
The
recipient should be a student
who has received limited or no
additional scholarship funding.
l
The award
seeks to recognize someone who
may have risen to the challenge,
either by overcoming adversity
or a significant obstacle to
succeed while at Colonia High.
l
Since the
“ Friends of ’72 ” Award
emanates from graduates wishing
to give back to their alma
mater, the key component for
selection is the applicant’s
commitment to giving back while
in attendance at CHS. The award
should recognize someone who has
not just taken advantage of or
excelled in extra-curricular
activities, but someone who has
made a significant individual
contribution to the student
body, to Colonia High School,
and/or the community at large.
l
In 2007,
two $1,000 awards will be
presented. There will be one
male and one female recipient.
